Finocchiona Salame

Finocchiona is a Tuscan salame, whose name comes from "finocchio" or fennel, which is used to flavor the pork used to make this sausage.  Legend says that a Tuscan peasant boy stole a fresh salami and hid it in a wild fennel field. When he returned for it, it had absorbed the fennel aromas.  A Tuscan favorite, it's dry-cured to develop its rich aroma, the fennel seeds and other spices add layers of flavor to the creamy sausage.

This rich salame is delicious as a quick snack, on an antipasti plate, perfect with flavorful cheeses, and served with robust Hermann wines and Hermann Wurst Haus Beers.
Shelf-stable, no refrigeration required.  Includes 1 - 8 oz. chub in vacuum package.
